WHAT WE DO AND HOW we can help
Our Services & Activities
SLMHA is an established local charity with over 33 years experience of providing psychological and social contact and practical support for adults suffering from mental ill-health in Skye and Lochalsh.
We offer informal, accessible mental health support for adults across Skye and Lochalsh. Because everyone's journey is different, we don't look for medical referrals or ask you to fill out complicated forms. We simply provide a safe, homely space where you can get the help you need, when you need it.
Our support focuses on these key areas:
Drop-In & Outreach Support: Immediate, trusted help right in our hub or out in the wider community.
Activities & Social Connection: Meaningful ways to build your skills, boost your confidence, and meet new people.
Decider Skills Courses: To help you better understand emotions, manage distress and make more skilful choices.

Be part of it
If you think we can help you and need our support we would be so happy to have you. Get in touch if you need support.
We are open 365 days a year, and we provides a safe and comfortable place in which to escape the isolation that so often goes with a mental health problem. We don’t do therapy or counselling but we what we do provide is friendship and support with a human face. We offer advice and guidance, emotional support, help with forms and phone calls, help in dealing with other organisations and speaking up for what you want, plus whatever practical support we can.
